Lake Candia is one of the most interesting natural attractions of the Canavese area. The village that overlooks the lake on the west side is also very interesting and enjoyable. This route takes you from Vialfrè to Candia and then to the lake, passing through back roads. The track is all on asphalt but really pleasant, thanks to the little traffic, therefore suitable for a bike ride. The alterantive route, using dirty roads, is described in the section “Adventure Tracks”. An interesting detour will take you from Candia to the medieval church of Saint Stefano, which is well worth a visit. The church is located on the crest of the frontal moraine of the glacier on the North West side of the town; the road that leads to the top is a little steep but worth it.
